I had such a wonderful opportunity to travel to Colorado and photograph my best friend and her beautiful growing family last month! We were fighting some some pretty harsh sunlight, but we were able to capture some really fun, energetic moments!

It was a bit chilly for Spring photos, and the sun stayed hidden behind the clouds for this session, but it truly didn’t matter. It was such a joy to capture this family’s energy!

I will never get tired of photographing these two locations. You’d never be able to guess how cold our hands were during this session because their energy is so warm and they were glowing with love! The Kemper Center is one of my favorite locations because there are so many pockets of of gorgeous nature combined with historic architecture offering plenty of variety for poses and backdrops. And if you want to get a little closer to Lake Michigan for a few shots, its so easy to hop over to Wolfenbuttel Park, which is just down the street!

If you are looking for the perfect urban location for your senior session, downtown Kenosha has so much to offer! It’s perfect for those who want variety in backgrounds, and it’s easy to find clean and comfortable spots for outfit changes.

Planning the perfect fall photos is a bit like trying to plan your meal prep around when your avocados will be ripe. When an avocado is perfectly ripe, it’s DELICIOUS, but if you try to eat it just slightly before or after that point, it’s still edible, but mostly disappointing. Getting the Autumn photos of your dreams is similar—September is still too green, and by November everything looks dead. That end of October sweet spot is what you want to aim for.

We had such perfect weather for this beautiful engagement shoot! And if you haven’t already noticed from my past beach sessions, I take full advantage of every opportunity to include beach grass in my photos. I can’t get enough of those warm golden tones!

Back at Petrifying Springs to embrace all the warm and cozy colors fall is bringing this year! Her dress was perfect for this location, don’t you think? I definitely rolled with the forest fairy vibes I was getting, and the end result was spot on!

Nothing celebrates the beginning of fall like a photoshoot in an apple orchard! I had the best time joining this family on their apple picking adventure to capture the sweetest, most genuine moments. We may have left a trail of apples with tiny toddler-sized bites in our wake, but the photos captured along the way are truly priceless. I love being able to tell a story with my photography, and there were so many opportunities to capture the day’s story during this session!

I loved stepping outside the office building to capture these two beautiful ladies in the wonderful community they serve. Plus, natural sunlight wins over fluorescent lighting everyday in my book!
